Why it exists

Most people end up with work in one app and life in another. The groceries, your mother's birthday and the car service do not belong in the tool you use at the office, so they end up in loose notes, in screenshots, or in your head. And what is in your head gets forgotten.

The other problem is sillier and does more damage: writing something down takes more effort than doing it. Unlock, open the app, wait, pick a list, type, set a date. For "take the bins out" that is far too much work, so you skip it — and a week later the list no longer looks like your life, so you stop opening it.

Kairo exists for those two things: everything fits in one place, and capturing is a single gesture. You say it and it is written down, with its date, its list and its priority, without touching anything else.

What makes it different

There is no shortage of task apps, and plenty of them are good. These are the four things people switch for:

• Dictation that understands the whole sentence. "Call Marta tomorrow at five #Work p1" becomes a task with a date, a time, a list and a priority. In hands-free mode every pause starts a new task: you talk without stopping and they are all there when you finish.
• Meeting recording. Leave your phone on the table and when you are done you have the conversation transcribed with speakers separated, a summary, and the tasks that came out of it ready to add. What gets agreed in a meeting stops getting lost between the minutes and nobody's memory.
• It genuinely works offline. Not "it remembers the last screen you saw": you can create, complete, move, comment and record on a plane or in a basement, and everything goes out in order when the network comes back.
• A birthday is not a task. Dates that arrive on their own — birthdays, expiry dates, renewals — have no checkbox, do not count as pending, and roll over to next year by themselves. Ticking off your sister's birthday never made any sense.

How it is built

With care for the small details, which is where you notice whether something is used every day: the list showing up before the app is even alive, the keyboard not covering the field, a new task appearing the moment you tap and not when the server answers.

And by measuring, not by opinion. Anything new has to survive a real phone before it stays: if startup gets slower or the screen stutters, it gets switched off even if it works. The decisions we take — and the ones we reject — are written down with their reasons, so that a year from now it is clear why things are the way they are.

Kairo is used every day to run the work and the household of the person who makes it. That is not a slogan: it is why the annoying things get fixed quickly.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data and we do not live off advertising, so there is no reason for Kairo to try to keep you hooked with notifications. Your tasks are yours: export them whenever you like from Ajustes → Exportar mis datos, as JSON or CSV, and if you want to leave for good, ask us and we delete the whole account.
